The iTaukei Education
Committee (hereafter referred to as the “Committee”)
is the authority in terms of the awarding of scholarships.
The Committee, which is appointed by the Minister, comprises
of five members and is chaired by the Permanent Secretary
for iTaukei Affairs. The composition is reviewed annually.
The functions of the
Committee are to:-

Determine the field of studies
and institutions in which the awards are to be offered.

Select applicants for interview.

Conduct interviews for potential
candidates.

Select candidates to be awarded
scholarships.

Discuss and decide on other issues
related to the Scholarship Fund.

Provide advice and counseling
Secretariat support
for the Committee is provided by the iTaukei Affairs Scholarship
Division (IASD) of the Ministry of iTaukei Affairs. The IASD
also provides hands-on management of the IASS.
