Alumni Survey

  SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME ALUMNI SURVEY

The Ministry of iTaukei Affairs (MIA) currently manages one of the Government’s Affirmative Action Programmes namely the Indigenous Affairs Scholarship Scheme (IASS). This scheme has benefited a lot of Indigenous iTaukei and Rotuman students since its inception in 1984 and most of these graduates hold responsible positions today in the public and the private sector.

MIA is now conducting a survey for all its sponsored students who have graduated from the University of the South Pacific (USP), Fiji National University and also from overseas institutions. The primary purpose of the survey is to establish their employment status, their employer and residential contact addresses in order to compile the IASS alumni.

Through the alumni, MIA is hoping to recruit mentors to provide counsel and advice to currently sponsored students at the USP and FNU from semester 1 2007. The need for increased guidance and role modeling is part of MIA’s efforts to raise the academic performance of sponsored students in all institutions. IASS graduates are therefore requested to forward the required information through telephone (679) 3100 909 or fax (679) 3300 198, or e-mail to the following scholarship officers:

Mr Jotame Yabakivitu jyabakivitu@govnet.gov.fj
Mr Epeli Tuiburotukula EpeliT@govnet.gov.fj
Mr Josaia Qeranatabua josaia.qeranatabua@govnet.gov.fj
Mr Watisoni Waqa wwaqa@govnet.gov.fj

Graduate survey forms can also be filled and e-mail to the above mentioned scholarship officers. Information can also be sent to the postal address shown below.

For further information, please contact Mr Josaia Qeranatabua on ext 1075 or through (679) 3307 202.
