A 2 day symposium on BIODIVERSITY & TRADITIONAL KNOWLEDGE: LINKAGES FOR PRACTICAL EQUITABLE PARTNERSHIP was held on February 3rd, 2011 at Studio 6 conference room by the Department of environment and the Ministry of iTaukei Affairs.
Experts like Mr Randy Thaman Raymond from USP presented their various topics, speaking on Biodiversity, Mr Tuiloma, a consultant currently working on a model law for traditional knowledge and expressions of culture under the Ministry of iTaukei Affairs and Mr Simione Sevudredre, speaking on Bio -Linguistic diversity. The floor was open for discussions at the end of the presentations.
The symposium hopes to form partnership with agencies in sharing resources, skills and intellect, to also prevent duplication of task and most importantly to monitor Bio- Diversity in all its forms.
